ริมแม่น้ำโขง เมืองจำปาสัก มีวัดเก่าซึ่งเป็นวัดร้างอยู่แห่งหนึ่ง ชื่อว่า "วัดสีสุมัง" (ศรีสุมังค์) ยังไม่ปรากฏใน google maps ผมพยายามค้นหาดูแล้วรู้สึกว่าจะอยู่ตรงตำแหน่งที่ทำลูกศรชี้ไว้!

Buddha in Vat Sisumang
In the place name Sisumang, on the bank of Mekong, a colorful painted Buddha sits snuggled between two trees and looks out at the river to the east. In older times, the road in front of the statue, but the Mekong shifted and the road had to be moved. The site is most certainly on the remains of a pre-Angkorian temple: some carved stones are visible in the area. The place was dedicated by the first King of Champasak, "Soi Sisamut" (1713-1737), to his mother.
When Henri Parmentier (Ecole Francaise d'Extreme-Orient) visited the region in the 1920s to establish an inventory of Lao monasteries, he found, on the site of the current Buddha, the ruins of a Vientiane-style monastery housing a large sitting Buddha, his right hand touching the floor with its fingertips. By this gesture, which symlobizes the Taking of the goddess Earth as witness, he asks the goddess to certify its legitimacy to become a Buddha, an Enlightened. From this monastery only survives today the statue, which you can still see the top, in the form of an accolade, emerging from the ground in front of the modern platform on the east side
